The Pioneers traveled to Welch College to open the Picirilli Classic at Welch College on Thursday to take on the number one team in the country the Great Lakes Christian Crusaders.
Antoine Darby added to his all-time leading scoring totals with 28 points, including big threes late in the game to propel the game into overtime. The Pioneers would fall just short in the quest for victory, missing two attempts to win in the final ten seconds of both over-time and regulation.
The Pioneers fell 85-83 in overtime. Chris Rawlins added to the spectacular performances with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kereion Douglas had 18 points and 12 rebounds.
