The Lady Pioneers came away with an exciting victory over Oakland City University, earning their early candidate for game of the season in the process, as they defeated the Mighty Oaks, a Division II member of the NCAA. 

CU Harrodsburg was led by sophomore Oriona Woods' 23 points and eight rebounds. 

E'moni Washington added 20 points and 12 rebounds on the evening, while Nia Sheckles contributed 13 points and nine assists. 

The Lady Pioneers shot 45% from the field, and despite being out-rebounded 57-38, still found a way to outscore the Oaks 64-38 in the paint. The Lady Pioneers also outscored the Mighty Oaks bench 26-22, and hustled for 22 fast break points. 

Likely the key stat for the evening, the Lady Pioneers forced Oakland City into 25 turnovers, leading to 26 points for CU Harrodsburg. The Lady Pioneers took care of the ball, only committing 13 turnovers. 

In what was an exciting finish, the evening was host to six ties and ten lead changes before Oriona Woods scored six of the final eight points for the Lady Pioneers to hold off Oakland City.
