The Lady Pioneers traveled this weekend to the University of Rio Grande to participate in the Bevo Classic. Their first game was against NAIA opponent Rochester University (MI) where they lost 108-78. 
 
The second of the two games were against USCAA opponent UC-Clermont. The Pioneers and the Cougars have played each other four times prior to this game where the Pioneers have a 1-3 mark against the Cougars with the lone win coming in the very first game. 
 
This game would have the Lady Pioneers only down two at the half but a third quarter where the Lady Pioneers would struggle was the key difference in the game. The Lady Pioneers were out scored in the third quarter 26-10 which was just a bit too much to overcome. 
 
The Lady Pioneers would score 36 points in the final period but would fall just short 91-80 to the Lady Cougars. 
 
Oriona Woods would lead the game in scoring with 22 points adding 10 rebounds as well. Makala Smith had her best game so far this season with 13 points but led the game in rebounding with 15, 8 coming on the offensive glass.
 
The Lady Pioneers will be back in action this week on Tuesday November 16^th as they look to snap the eight game losing streak against Berea College.
