The Campbellsville University Harrodsburg Pioneers women's soccer team had an impressive season capped off this past week when they got the news that two of their players earned All-American honors.
Erin Darland earned second team All-American for the NCCAA this season. Darland won first team All-Regional in the Mideast this season as a freshman.
Darland was one of the best defenders that Pioneers had on the back end with her speed and quickness to the ball.
Coach
Samantha Travillian had this to say about Erin Darland's award "As a freshman, Darland immediately stepped up as a leader on the team. Playing a center back position is a tough challenge, but she does it effortlessly." Adding in "I am so proud of her and all the work she has put in this season. This award is well deserved."
Darland had this to say, "I was very surprised to be named second team all-American in just my first year of playing college soccer." Also adding "I am very proud of this achievement. It has taken many years of hard work to get to the point I am at, and I plan to continue working hard and playing with my heart."
Darland hopes to allow this build on to her future "I hope to build on this award and continue to excel in my career, not only personally but also with my team by my side."
