The Campbellsville University Harrodsburg Pioneers women's soccer team had an impressive season capped off this past week when they got the news that two of their players earned All-American honors.
Katie Turner earned second team All-American for the NCCAA this season. Turner was a first team all-regional in the Mideast this season as a sophomore.
Turner was a big part of the offensive success for the Pioneers with 8 goals on the season. Last season as a freshman she earned all-region in the Mideast but finally was able to break through and earn the coveted All-American spot.
Coach
Samantha Travillian had this to say about
Katie Turner's award "Turner has been a dominant presence all season long." Adding in "She is a natural leader and has worked extremely hard this season. But as she will always say, she couldn't have done it without the rest of the team. She earned this award, and I couldn't be prouder."
Katie Turner had this to say about the honor "This is a great honor that wouldn't be possible without my teammates, coach, and CU Harrodsburg." Adding in "This team has the capability of holding a national title and I know we will get there. I am so proud of everyone."
