Antoine Darby became the first player in men's basketball history to score 1,000 points for the Pioneers. He becomes the third player this season to reach the milestone, as Oriona Woods reached 1,000 for the Lady Pioneers and
Chris Rawlins reached the milestone last month in his collegiate career with Miami Hamilton and the Pioneers.Â
Darby would lead all scorers with 26 points as CU Harrodsburg would defeat Oakland City University 70-68.Â
Darby was 9-14 from the field, including four three pointers. The Pioneers would catch fire from three point territory, as the team would score 11 field goals from deep.
Kereion Douglas would shoot 3-5 from three, and
Mason Blair would add two three pointers on the night. The Pioneers would lose two additional three point field goals, as
Mason Blair's halftime buzzer beater and an
Antoine Darby attempt would be waived off.Â
Monday night saw a 40 percent effort from the field and a 41 percent effort from three point territory for CU Harrodsburg. The Pioneers would also come away with 18 steals.Â
CU Harrodsburg starts 2022 with a 9-5 record as they begin to face conference opponents.Â
Up next for the Pioneers is a road trip to Gallatin, TN, where they will take on Great Lakes Christian on Thursday at 2 p.m., Boyce College on Friday at 8 p.m. and Simmons College on Saturday at 2 p.m. All games are at Welch College and will be livestreamed here -Â
