Harrodsburg, KY – The Campbellsville University Lady Pioneers hosted UC-Clermont Cougars on Wednesday night for senior night.
The night that saw seniors being honored prior to the game. Pioneers and Cougars battled the entire game, Cougars held a two-point half-time lead.
Pioneers and Cougars battle went all the way down to the wire, tied with less than a minute the Pioneers had a chance to take the lead, but a missed shot led to the ball going out of bounds on the Pioneers.
The Cougars would call the timeout to advance the ball and throw up a prayer at the buzzer that dropped in as the buzzer sounded.
Heart breaking way to end the season for the Pioneers, but the team is playing for more than just this game.
The Pioneers still have the regional tournament ahead of them as they prepare to go to Michigan in a couple weeks where the early look is that they will be the two seed team in the region.
The seniors went out playing their hardest tonight and
Oriona Woods scored 23 points tonight including grabbing 9 rebounds.
E'moni Washington had a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Makala Smith grabbed 10 rebounds tonight as well.
The Pioneers have one more game this season going to Asbury on the 17
th.
